Engineering Excellence – WITTENSTEIN at the MOTEK 2012

The WITTENSTEIN group is presenting itself at the MOTEK 2012 in Stuttgart from October 8th to 11th, 2012 in hall 9, stand 9121 along with their subsidiaries WITTENSTEIN alpha, WITTENSTEIN cyber motor and WITTENSTEIN motion control. This year’s focus will be on their consulting and engineering competency in mechanical and mechatronical drive technology – across the entire product portfolio.

As the absolute specialist in mechanical drive solutions, WITTENSTEIN alpha offers their customers not only an extensive product portfolio, but also provides comprehensive consulting and engineering expertise. Visitors are given valuable insight into a wide range of services in and around low-backlash planetary gearheads, servo bevel gears and linear drive systems. Product and application knowhow as well as high-performance software tools such as cymex® drive train sizing, allow the calculation of complex cinematics, the execution of dynamic and multi-body simulations or the generation of FEM analyses.

With these powerpacks, WITTENSTEIN alpha can provide valuable support for their clients – not only in the development of drive trains but also for optimization requirements during startups or ongoing operation. The solutions are focused on what is technically possible and what is actually feasible. The knowledge gained is then consequently incorporated into the advancement and enhancement of their product portfolio.

WITTENSTEIN bastian GmbH and Urban Production

Innovative WITTENSTEIN gearing solutions evolve not far from the Stuttgart MOTEK fair site in neighboring Fellbach. WITTENSTEIN invested twelve million Euros in a brand new low-noise and low-emission production site with the intention of establishing the facility and thriving in an urban environment. The result is an innovative turn-key concept of process optimization, building and energy supply that customers can benefit from as well: a permanently climate controlled indoor environment warrants technical precision and stable processes. This ensures that the new WITTENSTEIN subsidiary in Fellbach produces innovative gearing solutions that guarantee high product quality combined with optimized delivery performance. WITTENSTEIN plans to fashion their new production site with a Shop Window Factory which will integrate individual Industry 4.0 sample concepts. The “fourth step of industrial development” illustrates the ultimate fusion of state-of-the-art production and internet-like technologies. Industry 4.0 allows an economical manufacture of extremely individual products through increased productivity and flexibility.

As an essential component of mechanical drive systems, the WITTENSTEIN bastian-made gearing technology is used in WITTENSTEIN alpha-made rack-and-pinion systems.
