Quality Assurance Technician

Responsibilities

Salary Range: $26.50 - $31.25/hr
Responsible to ensure the quality of the WITTENSTEIN business units’ product, by checking, testing and measuring units per established procedures, policies and plans. 

Position Responsibilities
  • Perform inspection on incoming and manufactured parts, material and assemblies
  • Develop and optimize manual and machine measurement plans
  • Capable of operating a CMM and occasional programming
  • Understand electronic workmanship standards and measure electronic components
  • Capable of reading and understanding cable schematics
  • Experience evaluating & testing cable assemblies
  • Complete quality documentation accordingly
  • Assist in supplier qualifications
  • Determine, execute, interpret and complete Quality deficiency statements and event information.
  • Communicate technical details with suppliers regarding non-conforming parts
  • Complete quality tasks within the ERP system
  • Manage quality database for test equipment used
  • Observes job safety at the own workstation and periphery
  • Generate and implement continuous improvement ideas
  • Report to management on quality issues, trends and losses

Qualifications

Qualifications
  • Able to read blueprints and apply dimensions to the parts
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations
  • Familiar with document management (creating templates, filing documents, and suggesting signage)
  • IPC certification is a plus but not required
  • Previous experience in mechanical inspection using electronic calibers, gages, micrometers, scales and other measuring equipment.
  • Broad knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques and documentation.
  • Operation of CCMs (ZEISS, Klingelnberg, …)
  • Knowledge of theory and principles of statistics and statistical process control
  • Strong computer skills including: QA applications, word processing, excel spreadsheets and databases.
  • Able to use an ERP systems to verify requirements
  • Familiarity with ISO-9001
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be a team player
  • Ability to demonstrate and model WITTENSTEIN core values
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). 
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Quality Assurance.
