Material and Production Planner / Master Data Controller

Responsibilities

Responsible for the planning and execution of the company forecast, production schedule, and materials plan and materials control schedule activities to support the company's Revenue and On Time Delivery metrics for Customer Excellence. This role will work collaboratively On-Site with customer service, operations, procurement, and engineering to confirm/create schedules and additionally with the customers to adjust/expedite, as needed. Position will also be responsible for the Master Data Controlling.

Production Planning
  • Analyze customer orders/forecast for capacity and materials available and provide commitment while working simultaneously with the Operations team for capacity validation.
  • Plans and directs the preparation of a schedule of orders to conform to delivery dates, manufacturing capacities, available labor, etc.

  • Releases and monitors work orders, to keep informed of manufacturing status and, when needed, initiate the necessary steps to maintain conformity with schedules.
  • Prepare summary reports of safety stock and delivery performance on a regular basis and communicate results to the Operations team.
  • Day-to-day interface with operations to ensure readiness and release of the product.
  • Analyzes OTD variances, identifies root causes, and provides effective corrective action.
  • Interfaces and coordinates between manufacturing, procurement, engineering, finance, and suppliers regarding component and schedule requirements and changes.
  • Leads/participates in cost reduction, process improvement, and quality improvement teams.
  • Purchase order creation/management for intercompany components and outside processing vendors.
  • Accountable for on-time delivery and target revenue adherence for accounts/customers assigned.
Master Data Controlling
  • Control and coordination of cross-plant master data maintenance/quality along the product life cycle and supply chain.
  • Present deficiencies in master data across departments and plants.
  • Request for elimination of grievances. Escalation in case of non-performance tasks.
  • Coordination of master data adjustments across departments & plants.
  • Coordination of master data deconstruction within the product phase-out process.
  • Permanent optimization and monitoring of data quality for all departments involved in master data processing within the area of responsibility (e.g. supply chain).
  • Preparation and presentation of the data collected within the SBD.
  • Monitor and optimize stock and stock dimensioning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Material's Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years' experience using MRP/ERP computer systems in a manufacturing environment (SAP preferred).
  • 5+ years of production planning and/or master data management experience.
  • APICS certification (or equivalent) preferred.
  • Solid quantitative skill set and the ability to analyze, think, and communicate with well-supported data.
  • Good problem-solving skills; the ability to ask the right questions, help frame logical conclusions, and arrive at effective solutions.
  • Data and metric oriented for decision-making.
  • Proficient in MS Office with advanced Excel competency.
